I started Open Edit PDF because I kept running into the same wall over and over: I'd need to do something simple to a PDF — merge two files, rotate a page, compress something before emailing it — and every tool I found wanted me to sign up, upload my file to their server, or pay for a "pro" plan just to unlock the basics. It always felt backwards that such ordinary tasks were treated like premium features.

So I decided to build the tool I wished existed: everything runs right in your browser, nothing is ever uploaded anywhere, there's no login screen standing between you and your work, and it's free — not a free trial, just free. I design, build, test, and maintain every tool on this site myself, end to end. This site is my attempt to give that back to anyone who needs it, the way I wished it had been given to me.
